Studio Sira is a cozy pottery studio at the heart of which is Nikita Mishra and her creativity. She is an inspired, full-time potter, who encapsulates the beauty of nature through the graceful surfaces of her handcrafted pieces. She believes in the magic of personally crafting and embedding a part of soul in her creations.
Pottery was a happy accident in Nikita’s journey as a painter. She learnt pottery from India’s oldest pottery studio, Andretta Pottery, under the guidance of Mansimran Singh. Something transformed in her when she filled her life with beautiful clay pots and mugs. Hence Studio Sira was founded. From being a small part of her life to becoming the grounding force of her life, pottery has come a long way in helping her find meaning, passion and happiness.
For her work, Nikita chooses materials that originate from the earth, like terracotta and oxides, along with water and heat. She does small batches and mass production, all handcrafted by her on either a pottery wheel or through hand-building techniques. Head over to her studio, and you’ll find her handling pots, glazes and covered in clay. She loves what she does, making everything with her own hands and adding a pinch of love and quirkiness. For all you pottery enthusiasts out there, she also conducts workshops doing her part in keeping the legacy and ensuring that pottery continues to illuminate creative minds.
